I’m asking purely out of curiosity. I stumbled upon the phrase today and wasn’t sure how to pronounce it. From what I’ve read it means "The dead" but if that’s wrong please give the correct translation.

I have researched some websites and dictionaries at the library, and the one that I come up with the most is "Non rinunciare, mai non rinunciare", I have also seen it where mai is that the end too. I have also been told that their are different ways to say it depending on the region in Italy, is this true? I could really use some help, I really want to know the correct translation, thanks!
