What is the translation of this quote into French?

"If the path be beautiful, let us not ask where it leads"

This is what came out of an online translator but, it seems to be a proper form.

Si le sentier est beau, permettez-nous de ne pas demander où il mène

Is this correct, and if not, can somebody please provide the correct translation? Thanks a bunch.

  • Leohn:

    Dear Merc girls,

This translation seems to be about correct. Literally the translation should be;" Si le sentier etre beau, ne nous demandons pas ou il mene. The French grammar is reversed for adjectives for instance a black cat in french will be ” un chat noir”. Also ”let’s” indicates an idea of subjonctive and ”permettez nous ‘ does not seem correct there as a translation.

    Take care.
